We woke up yesterday to a few inches of fresh snow, having returned the night before from the Duke Cancer Center. Cathy had another stable MRI and her Doctors’ encouragement to maintain the current treatment course of 85 mg of daily chemo. Her cancer cells were discovered to be methylated which suggests her chemo should be a bit more effective for a longer period. Thus, her one-year-of-chemo plan will run until the end of June. Of course, the chemo continues to wreak havoc on the rest of her body, including nausea, headaches, brain fog, regaining her balance, etc. But the trade off seems reasonable if the side effects remain manageable and hopefully temporary. Thank you, God. We love you.

More good news! Cathy has accepted an invitation from the Order of Malta Federal Association to be one of their malades, traveling to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in France, May 1-8, 2024. It is an all-expense-paid trip for two, so Cathy will let me tag along. We are so excited and so appreciate the extra efforts of her local Order of Malta in Memphis to help make this happen. She received the news on Ash Wednesday, just before we attended mass at the Duke Chapel. God is good all the time and all the time …
