Dr, Cathy Procession

Yesterday there was as a tribute soccer game in the rain. Serabu won this splash-bowl 1 – 0. It was very exciting. Tonight there will be a candlelight procession thru the village following by a vigil mass and testimony reception. Tomorrow will include a Memorial Mass with procession to her memorial grave site (some of her hair is placed in an urn) and reception. They really are doing a very nice three-day memorial for Dr Cathy. Oh how she loves Serabu and Serabu loves her. I get back in country on the 15th.

After 5 hours the ceremonies are over. There are twice as many people outside the back porch walls than inside the walls. Lots of people. The party continues but I’m going to be. It was wonderful being here, but a little sad too. Funeral mass starts at 6 am Memphis time (11 am local) and it will also be livestream.

Ps. I depart for Serabu on Oct 5 and return on Oct 15, in time for the Feed My Flock food campaign for Serabu at St Louis Catholic Church (Memphis) on October 18th. Praise God.
We know this has been a bitter sweet time as you remember Cathy with her African family.
We still pray for you because when you love deeply you grieve deeply. When my 53 year old young brother died a few months later I saw this plaque in a park on a fallen tree. I have put it to memory and shared with many people. It says…
Grieve not that they are no more,
But that they were!
Your years together were special.
