A Prayer for Cathy’s Journey Home from Susie Cordell
My Prayer for You, as You Take Her Home

Heavenly Father,
I lift up my heart to You, not only in grief, but in love-love for a man whose heart is breaking, and love for the soul he carries now with reverence and devotion. Lord, You know the depth of what they shared—a bond forged in faith, in laughter, in tears,
a love that reflected Your own abiding love. You called them together for a season on this earth, and now You have called her home.

But this journey is not over. He walks a sacred road, carrying her once more—not just in body, but in spirit, in memory, in promise. As he takes her home to family, as he prepares to lay her in the place of rest, be near to him, O Lord. Steady his hands. Shelter his heart.
Let each mile be filled with grace. Let every moment be wrapped in holy peace.

Jesus, gentle Shepherd of souls, guide her swiftly into Your eternal light.
Comfort him in the quiet places. Let him know she is not lost, but found—
found in You, in eternity, in glory. And as he honors her life with every step he takes, may he feel the prayers that surround him,
the love that walks beside him, and the hope that will hold him until that beautiful day when they are reunited in Your presence.

Mother Mary, enfold him in your mantle. Saint Joseph, protector of families, stand watch over this journey. And may perpetual light shine upon her as she rests in the peace of Christ.

Amen.

I continue to lift you up as you take this sacred journey.
